Summary: 
With the exception of Viktor Pelevin's and Ludmila Ulitskaya's written answers and Ludmila Petrushevskaya's response in the form of an essay, the book is based on conversations with the writers. With support from the Swedish Foundation for Culture in Finland and the Magnus Bergwall Foundation in Sweden, the interviews were conducted by Kristina Rotkirch, Finland-based Swedish translator, journalist, and publisher of a series of contemporary Russian novels in Sweden and Finland. The Granholm Foundation (Stockholm University) and Vera Sager’s Foundation have supported translation into English and publication.
